fred laparo It’s all vibrations - from the cosmic to the sub-atomic, from the spiritual to the cognitive, from the creatively musical to the naturally occurring. It’s all vibrations. I feel lucky to have encountered these. Beautiful sounds, soulful sounds, sounds both dark and light. Vibrations - evocative, emotive, mysterious and as comforting as the smell of pine needles. But that’s a different tale. Thanks for these. And please, consider pressing to vinyl 🙏❤️🎶 Favorite track: Deliberation.

Mighttheone A document of a time. Inspired by isolation yet speaking to a people to history within the confines of technology, sort if like researching from a computer, searching for a truth. A digital photo of an ancient place, details stand out because of separation, you are there, here. Beautiful album. Favorite track: Meganeura.

Lars Gotrich The hum of the earth stretched across latitudes of glitched guitar fuzz and droning folksong. A celestial communion with roots in the Earth. Favorite track: Wordless Chapel.

about

Originally conceived as the score for the film Fire Underground by Nick Crockett, this music has accumulated additional meanings for me as climate change and Covid-19 escalate. Nick describes Fire Underground as "a speculative fantasy which re-imagines and reinterprets the history of coal mining in the eastern United States...The project features a paleozoic coal forest deep underground, which is slowly returning to life. The forest is a kind of purgatory, but also a repository of the myths and dreams of the people living above...I’ve tried to render the past as a space for possibility, for transformation, and for a kind of communion. It is filled with danger, but also with openings and with light."

Today, with so many in isolation and gripped with worry, I offer it as a balm: a re-connection to earth in the past, present and future.

Thank you for listening. When we share common music, we share common space. When we gather, even if only across distances, love thrives.
