I made Cactus Flower in Southern California in summer of '21 with my old friend Evan Burrows. It's the first time we collaborated since we were practically kids. I was nomadic that year and we made this between sections of my journeys. To connect with nature away from daytime heat I would lay on a lawn chair for hours at night watching the stars and satellites. I sensed the bright aliveness of a desert willow beside me, nuzzling my mind among its branches. I gave gratitude to the land with altars and song, making up my own practices to communicate with seen and unseen ecologies. This is my life’s work: to reweave myself into the Earth and to have something to pass down. It’s why I sing.

An ethereal combination of harp, electric guitar, and near-subliminal vocals, sounding not unlike a lucid dream only dimly recalled after awakening. neu-mann
Moody and weird experimental pop from Melbourne follows the intuitive logic of the surrealist game from which the group takes their name. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 8, 2020
Magic in its purest form. I love Floating Points, I love Pharoah Sanders, I love The London Symphony Orchestra. It's a match made in heaven, and the result is absolutely gorgeous. I have loved this record since its release, and realized I don't own it for some reason. So its time to change that. 9.5/10 honestly could become a 10/10 on an indepth vinyl relisten. angrypizza98
